¡Hola! I started Nemi Holisticks with the idea of combining my 3 passions: health, transparency and LOVE for chips. At 14, I witnessed the effect that the lack of access to education has in rural communities in Mexico and decided to become a human rights attorney. When I began feeling the emotional and physical toll of practicing law, I searched for balance and dove into the world of health and wellness.

In 2011, I moved to Chicago, made this city my new home, while maintaining my roots to Mexico through my passions for food, health and connecting with people. I decided to bring un poquito de México with me by combining two of my favorite Mexican superfoods, amaranth seeds and nopal (cactus), into one real, simple, crunchy and delicious snack!

But Nemi Holisticks is about more than creating delicious and real snacks. Nemi means “to live” in Náhuatl, the language of the Aztecs. For us, living a holistic life means caring about our food, the plants we use and the hands harvesting our plants. We partner with small independent Mexican farmers using sustainable farming techniques. We work with womxn who hold positions usually reserved for men. We use sustainable ingredients, such as nopal and amaranth- drought-resistant plants that need little water to survive and thrive in arid climates (currently on a quest to getting sustainable packaging too!).

Join us and become a holiSTICK snacker! ¡GRACIAS for learning a bit about us!
